Psalm 46

I read my favorite Psalm today during my quiet time, as I often do. My life has been a bit of a whirlwind lately. A little stress, a little financial uncertainty, a lot of looking to the Lord for guidance and trusting that our life as we know it is part of His master plan to glorify Himself. Psalm 46 put everything back into perspective for me. The Lord has everything in HIS perspective. He sees all, from the public news of politics and world turmoil to the deepest and most private meanderings of our hearts. This world is not spinning out of control as it may seem at times. It gets more and more chaotic, but He never ceases to be in control. He does not stand afar off. And so I get quiet... I will not fear though the earth be removed, though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea. Be still, and know that He is God. The Lord of hosts is with us... The God of Jacob is our refuge! There is peace.

Here it is, in the New King James version.

Psalm 46

God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear,
Even though the earth be removed,
And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
Though it's waters roar and be troubled,
Though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah.
There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God,
The holy place of the tabernacle of the Most High.
God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved;
God shall help her, just at the break of dawn.
The nations raged, the kingdoms were moved;
He uttered His voice, the earth melted.
The Lord of hosts is with us;
The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.
Come, behold the works of the Lord,
Who has made desolations in the earth.
He makes wars cease to the end of the earth;
He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two;
He burns the chariot in the fire.
Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!
The Lord of hosts is with us;
The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

MORE new pics of Audrey!

As if it is possible to have enough pictures of my little munchkin. As I have mentioned before, our good friends Dave & Katie own a photography company (shameless plug: http://www.lairdsphotography.com/), and let us utilize their photography studio. I am their assistant, and help with shooting weddings whenever they need me. It pays to have photographer friends, let me tell ya! In the past few weeks, we've taken some new pics. Click for big versions. Enjoy!

I took the ones below.

Picture Update!

Picture update time! My wonderful girlfriends from small group and I threw Katie a baby shower a few weeks ago. Here are Jill (holding Cassie's baby Loulea), Cassie, Katie, Laura, me, and Audrey:

My family and I don't celebrate Halloween. However, we did dress Audrey up this year and got together with some friends to eat and watch the kids play.

Audrey and Nolan had their first lesson in sharing:

Audrey still has much to learn. :p

Look at my adorable little horsey!

Steve (Nolan's Dad) was embarassed because he thought the goldfish costume looked feminine... I say it looks unisex except for the ruffles on the sleeves! Either way, Nolan didn't like it one bit:

Abby and Nolan (I think she's trying to
make up for Nolan's unhappiness here...):

Audrey didn't mind her costume as much.
The back had a cute little mane and tail!! So cute.

More soon! I feel a heart-to-heart post coming on....
