Spring Is Finally Here

This morning was beautiful. The sun was shining, a cool breeze was blowing (quite strongly actually, it was wonderful), and it was about 75 degrees. We simply HAD to get out of the house - the park was calling!! We all went, even the doggies, and had a really fun time.

Audrey LOVES spending time with Daddy. She giggles incessantly when he is chasing her ("I'm gonna get you! I'm gonna get you!"), which is really hilarious to watch.

Eric helped her across this "bridge", after which she kept asking for him to help her again, over and over!

Don't worry. She was lathered with sunblock.

The pups would live in the fields if they could, chasing their frisbee all day, every day. Gabby especially.

Audrey loves our dogs, and enjoys playing with them. She calls them "Gobby" and "Satha" and has no problem telling them "No, doggies!" or "Come!" or "Sit!".

Anticipation. It's a horrible thing.

The weather has cooled down considerably with the coming of an afternoon storm. Even so, all of the windows in the house are open and the wind is blowing through. I adore it. I love the wind and wish it would come around more often.

Audrey and I have enjoyed some wonderful play time with some good friends this past week. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera for each of the two outings we had! Ugh. Thankfully, my friend Lesley (who takes beautiful pictures!) brought hers along, and you can see her pictures HERE and HERE.

I have more pics! It seems to be all I have time for lately. Someday soon I will start blogging like a normal blogger... actual WORDS and not just pictures. :) I miss pouring my heart out here.

Audrey is basically crawling now. She's not quite mastered the forward crawl,
but she manages. :)

She often scoots under chairs and other furniture to play. She'll probably be one of those kids who builds forts out of everything she owns. I was like that!

Audrey Ann, LOST, and a Cozy Dogpile

Well, last week's LOST premier certainly lived up to my expectations. I thought it was great! I have a few theories, but more than anything I am waiting in excited anticipation to watch the next episode! {Edit: it would help if I finish my sentences before I post!} I hope my fellow LOSTies enjoyed the nail biting suspense as much as I did, and look forward to the coming episodes. Seriously, if they don't air more than 8 episodes this season I think I may die. For real.

Baby news! We finally decided on a name for the baby girl we have affectionately called Rice Rice Baby up until now. Her name will be Audrey Ann. Audrey is a classic, timeless name that Eric and I both love, and Ann is my Mom and my middle name. I am excited to carry on the middle name tradition! :D We LOVE her name and cannot wait to meet her. Being able to call her by her name is a wonderful, real, and exciting thing. A very sweet friend of mine sent us a gift recently, my very first baby gift! I almost danced around the house with joy. Here are a few of the things she sent including the cutest bib ever ~ thank you April! :D


In other news, Gabby and Sasha are becoming the most mellow, affectionate, and cuddly dogs in the history of Labrador Retrievers. I'm not kidding ~ see for yourself!

A Hot Sunday at the River

Yesterday afternoon, we went with Eric's parents and our pack of dogs to the river/creek in Gahanna... I'm not sure which river it is. There are many gorgeous spots to wade and splash around, where the rocks aren't too hard on the feet. It was hot, and the pups were ecstatic to be in the water! I couldn't help but grin from ear to ear when I saw both Sasha & Gabby sprint into the water and swim around for several minutes, before coming out to find a toy or stick to play with. Sasha surprised me by diving for rocks and sticks! She would feel around on the bottom of the river with her feet until she found something worth diving for, and then go under to find it. It's amazing how they inherently know how to do these things, it's simply normal to them. It gives me warm fuzzies to watch them so happy in their ideal environment, and I could watch them swim around all day! Forgive the picture quality... my cell phone doesn't have the best camera, hehehe.

I HAD to post these pictures that Katie & Dave took the other day. They got an adorable black Lab puppy a few weeks ago, who is really taken with Sasha & Gabby. Sasha especially loves her, and treats Molly like her own puppy. It's beyond cute.
